This is the second Father's Day dinner we celebrate together as a couple for my dad.
Last year, we had it over at Melben's and this year daddy requested to have it again there! ( he really loves their crab ) and so Melben it is.
For those who's not new to Melben, you'll know how insane the queue can get.
I wonder if it's the same on weekdays. hmm.
so here's a shot of the queue:
At 7pm, we were at the end of the queue.
We only got seated at around 8.30pm and were told that it'll take another 60 minutes for our food to be served.
But the good thing is,the food arrived within 30 minutes as we've ordered while queuing. Hence, it's not too bad.
We got ourselves:
1 chili crab
1 crab bee hoon + extra soup + extra noodles
1 Hei Chou ( fried prawn balls)
1 vegetable
1 fried rice
+ drinks
total bill: $174 for 5 pax.
The 2 crab dishes came up to $115.
Our verdict:
Come only for the CRABS!
Here's why:
They are all huge and meaty. The soup is really flavorful, rich and sweet.
So do pop by Melben Seafood at Ang Mo Kio Blk 232 when you feel like eating crab and is willing to part with the money.
Tip of the day:
Be Mentally Prepared to Queue for your food.
Come early if you want to eat at 7pm, if not one can end up only having dinner at 9:)
Oh! and bring things to entertain yourself while queuing!
Hope this helps!
love,
Snail.
