Hidden Find: Churros-y Nice!

'T' and I love to go to new places and try out new munchers.
By new places, we meant places outside of shopping malls.

and so,
on a Friday evening, after dinner at home we decided to go down to GRUB for some Churros. The thing is, 'T' is a great fan of Churros but it's difficult to find places that sells GOOD Churros and GRUB happens to be one such place!

First Word: We'll be back!

Grub is located at Bishan Park 1, right beside Bishan Park Secondary School.

Service:

We called around 9pm, asking if they still have Churros.
( such rarity get sold out really quickly )
We were told they still have the desserts, however there's a long waiting list and the place closes at 9.45pm! ( last order ) - that's a large turn out considering that they only open for business in May 2013.

He very nicely offered to put our name on the waiting list and when 'T' and I arrived,
we were promptly seated.

The Food:

We decided to order the Churros as well as THIS:

Truffled Egg Cocotte with crispy parma ham and toasted foccacia.  - $7
ps:  They uses Organic Eggs.

Think of it like the western version of your favorite soft-boil eggs and bread.

This little baby is made up of poached egg nestled in watery soft boil egg shrouded in truffle oil. Instead of having to add your own soy-sauce, the fragrant of the egg is further enhanced by the yummy parma ham and sprinkle of spring onions.

Pair it up the nicely toasted foccacia that is all so soft and crunchy, and you get a hearty after dinner treat. lol

Churros - Our Motivation. - $8

We visited Grub to satisfy our cravings. To honest, $8 is the cheapest churros that we've come by so far. Previously we went to MaxBrenner @ Esplanade. It was equally nice just a tad expensive.

Alright, over here, the churros are shorter but there's easily 6 sticks of it to go around. Instead of chocolate and jam a-la Max Brenner, Grub provided us with vanilla.
Thumbs up for not making the sauces overly-sweet such that they robbed the churros of their taste but we can easily just eat the Churros on its own:)
We really dig the warm crispy sweet and tangy taste of the cinnamon coating the Churros and at only $8, we'll definitely be back!

In short, Grub is a place to BE at if you happen to be in the area.
It is like a source of warmth in the otherwise quiet Bishan Park.
They are big on organic food, good people that provides prompt and polite service.
Too bad we came after dinner and din't get to try the rest of their menu.
Most of the patrons were there for the Cider and Hand-Crafted Beer.
Seems really awesome, no?

Oh, and the best part is,
It is pet-friendly!
We spotted a cute bull-dog snugged beneath its owner's table.
Purrrfect, ya?

Have you been to Grub? Let us know what you think of this young and vibrant place!

Love,
S.

510 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 1.
