The school holidays is almost over and the haze went away together with the holidays. Soon it will be back to school again for most ppl. But that's not really te point school hols or not life still continue.
So throughout my life I have been staying in the east and I think ever since Tampines mall opened many many years back a lot of my entertainment and dining have been done there. So if u didn't know, there is a pasta mania there. I still remember it was alright when I was in secondary school. Like a cheap and good source of fast food. I mean Mac and KFC and stuff are nvr really my normal meal then unlike many of my peers. So pastamania was a good option esp when dining out with friends.
Yet over the years, it just went from ok to bad to inedible. Like the other day when I had staff bonding there and tried their food again... I tell u.. I think I cook pasta 100 times better than their. It's tasteless for the aglio, and the tomato source taste more like vinegar. I almost puke out whatever I ate.
I swore off pastamania for a long time before that, and that trip back just makes it worse.

Until one time (actually I forgot when was it, I only remember it after a race), me and S went for pastamania at her hideout, northpoint. And i'm convince different outlet of pasta mania have super different standard. So 3 days ago, the 2 of us went back again, the one at northpoint. I was hoping that I can prove my theory right. Which is northpoint pastamania has a MUCH better cook than Tampines mall. AND I WAS PROVEN RIGHT!!
First up was the soup, ok nothing to rave about that.
Next is S's tuna bacon penne!! That's half eaten. Haha. I can't do photos like some other bloggers but one think I know here is I'm giving u reader the pic of exactly what we ate:) no added photoshop. The flavour was good. Good balance in taste. Only downside for S. - too little sauce. But for me, who's not a tomato sauce lover, it's really good enough:)
Next up:) my prawn with tomato aglio. I got this with a pacific rim set. So it $14.90 with a medium drink, the pasta, a soup and the side. First look, the pasta was really dry. Can't really see from the picture. It's covered by chilli and cheese. That's how I like my Aglio:) but when I stir it. Ta-da. It's wet inside, wet enuff. And it has a strong flavour of the garlic. To me it's good. Not out of this world good nut with that kind of price, I dun really expect something of like say pasta inc. standard.
Last was this! The side. Cheesy garlic bread. For all those who eats pasta mania, this is a whole lot different from the normal garlic bread, at least in northpoint (I can't say for other outlet cos their standard are really very different). There's 2 cheese on it. And most important, it's crispy on the outside but soft on the inside:) one word, YUMS!!
In conclusion, if u stay up in the north like S and u have really nothing to eat and craving for cheaper pasta, go down to pastamania at northpoint. It's worth the money. But if u live in the east, please dun go to the pastamania in Tampines already. It's really disgusting. If ppl stop eating that I guess they will improve their standard:)
